With the international ratings and advertising sensation that is the Soccer World Cup being hosted by our humble nation in less than a year will the politicians who were so blinded in their yearning to be taken seriously that they forgot to take local law/myth into account?
It would be ignorant of them to think that the only driving force behind bringing an event of such magnitude to this country was the "committee" comprised of brown-noses and sparkling Colgate smiles with just a hint of feigned sincerity. A craft honed by years of opportunistic tenacity bore fruit, when on (in (Date of 2010 host bid winner, 2008) an entire nation cheered as the possibilities for our humble homeland rushed forth.
Seeing as though the majority of citizens have lost the backbone required to state the obvious, once again the job falls on yours truely, cunt/dreamkiller extraordinaire, MrSelfDestruct. With the past elections results reinstated the ANC as the ruling party, we as a republic have dived head first into murkey water. With our newly appointed sovereign dictator for life....uggghum: I mean President is still treading water it is only a matter of time before we a sink or swim along with him?
I'm not slating his political stances or his character but merely highlighting the fact that with any world leader it takes time to ascertain the best path for a nation and it is this variable that I feel is just too potentially explosive to leave be. This apparant messiah of the working class has done nothing more than lip-service which depending on whom holds more "power" change s erratically. He has told us, the ignorant populous exactly what we wanted to hear and like babies being lulled to sleep we flashed our shit-eating grins and shrudged. I imagine the action and stare of bilwilderment are something J.Z is all too familiar with behind closed doors.
Merely a speculative parody on what might very-well be fact. I sincerely hope that all the grand designs make their way from blueprint to scale-model and eventually WHAT WE PROMISED TO PROVIDE F.I.F.A! A force not to be taken likely and with economic stability and international appeal in sight just over yonder horizon I wonder if the "vision" of 2010 World Cup RSA was not concieved by a one-eyed puppet.
However,all is not lost. At least if we tarnish our already soiled reputation tthere will be benefits for nhialists and anarchists alike. Riots are all the rage in the plush metropolitan capitals of the football fanatical European nations so it seems only logical that we do dabble in social dissarray.
Ah, can you imagine?
We will have the opportunity to confirm the suspitions of the "civilized world" as the youth gather in their masses with their collective angst towards poor planning and inept execution with fingers on the proverbial trigger. The fuse need only be lit.
Good old fashioned harmless fun demolishing public property deemed more important than schooling or more affordable healthcare but more tourist attractions so we can remain the "quaint" little post-collinial country that is only there to entertain the worlds legitimate super‑powers.
Last time I checked I was one of the misunderstood generation Z that steals oxygen from the deserving, ensuring that the tiles in shopping centers don't get cold. Rooting themselves in a world so far from our reality that is the consumer –based Americana that bombards our consciousness.
Very little in Africa is still african. Not lepoard skin thongs, buck-skin bongos, tin cranes sold at roadside vendors-no not even the native population bother to enjoy the fruits accompanied by living in this Eden in what is known to be the cradle of mankind. ETHNICITY HAS BEEN MILKED AND THE GENERATION NO LONGER HOLDS PERJEDUCE NOR ILL WILL!! BUT THE CONSTITUTIONAL REPOCUSSIONS OF A BIGGOTROUS GENERATION PAST STILL STING THOSE WHO WERE OBLIVIOUS!
Too much emphasis is put on the need for P.C behaviour and not enough on what we as human beings should strive for. Equality is preached, yet not practised and this is no more so the case than in the sporting arena. Quotas now dictate who is chosen for a team not the merit of their sporting skill?!
These redundant and obsolete precautions to curb rascism do more to encourage the disheartened sportsfans whom are left mortified by inferior teams for the sake of beurocratic bolloks.
J.Z is either going to shoot himself in the foot and hopefully common sense will take hold once again. The echoe of the shot as is what triggers an ephiphanny,as we look left and right to our fellow South Africans shocked to realize it is our fault for voting an incompotent, masoganistic and evanghelic posterboy into power.NATO will turn a blind-eye till poor structure and misappropriation of tax-payers money begins affecting their overhead for the 3rd quarter.
Dimplomats control this country from sunny beaches behind laptops or rather parallel to a P.A whom types vigourously whilst a pot-bellied pig dictates what will be filtered, rewritten and edited by a flock of legal eagles. What happened to being willing to get your hands dirty in the traditional sense, as opposed to the current "HANDS-ON" approach of wailing over a microphonein a crusty commity center before being chaffured back to whatever 5-star destination is looking to get into bed with the ANC.
Philanthropy should be the one common thread amongst the people that run for office! Not in an unpractical manner that was far too great to accomplish in Thabo's reign outside our country. Ah but this is not the rant of one lone Dutchman with his shotgun-No Sir! I am just kicking back in my easy chair, oblivious to the dog and pony act self-medicating and laughing my ass off.
